Urban Meyer says Tebow's Back is Fine, and Spikes too

As we inch nearer toward the start of the 2009 season, which is arguably the most anticipated in Gator history, expectations are high and with that comes a heightened level of fear.

Even a hint that Tebow might be injured spiked Google searches.

For the record, both he AND Spikes were held out of contact drills. With the first game being against Charleston So. why risk injury for any of your top players when your first game is a scrimmage, more or less.

“Before that creates a life of its own, he’s fine, 100 percent,” Meyer added. “We also held (Brandon) Spikes out of some live stuff. That’s what you do this time of year, so we’re good.”

Also published was Tebow's injury list, and that he has played nearly half of his games injured. Does knowing a guy is injured make him more of a target or not? Belichick has been known to list Tom Brady as injured, whether he was or not. But has that made Brady more of a target? Meyer, and the Gators, are usually mum on the subject. Tebow is always ready to go. Does this help protect Tebow? or does it help intimidate opponents?

One thing is for certain, the Gators are the team to beat, and they believe that their destiny is in their own hands.
