We here at Tebow's Eye Black represent three generations of Gators. And the first game we went to as a family, was the 1995 UF-Tennessee game.
For those who don't remember, SI came into town to put Peyton Manning on the cover, and it looked like he deserved it for nearly the first half.
But Lawrence Wright had the biggest hit we've seen, giving Danny and the offense the ball back. There was a great two minute drill, and the Gators scored just before the half.
Then the second half. The Gators came out and scored 42 unanswered points. And just to sweeten the deal, after we finished singing "We are the Boys" the bottom fell out, and it became one big party in the rain. It was the biggest come back in school history.
And Monday, Danny Wuerffel was on the cover of SI.
You probably know the rest, but Peyton Manning went on to be a fairly decent QB in the NFL and seems to be in about every third ad on tv. And Danny went on, ultimately, to help those perhaps in the greatest need in America.
If you don't know about Danny's work in New Orleans in the Ninth Ward, and the school and medical clinic Desire Street support, go hear Danny speak at Grace United Methodist on Newberry Rd. tomorrow (9 and 11 am).
