How good was the recruiting class of 2006? Robbie Andreu explains:
This is the greatest recruiting class in school history — and one of the greatest in the history of college football.
This class has won two national championships and two SEC titles, with a chance to possibly win a third in both.
It features a Heisman Trophy winner (quarterback Tim Tebow), a national defensive player of the year (middle linebacker Brandon Spikes), three All-Americans, five All-SEC performers and 12 academic All-SEC honors. And this is the winningest class in SEC history with a record of 46-6.
“It’s mind boggling when you think about what those young guys have done,” Florida coach Urban Meyer said. “They are 27-5 in the SEC, 25-2 at home, 24-3 against ranked opponents, 11-1 against traditional rivals (Tennessee, Georgia, Florida State and Miami).
“So, I guess that’s a decent recruiting class. I love these guys.”
There’s a lot to love.
