Haiti collection begins around 11 am at Turlington

Nathan Crabbe has the details:

The University of Florida has two students and three faculty members in Haiti, which was hit yesterday by a devastating earthquake.

UF has made contact with the faculty members but is still trying to reach the students, according to university officials. I’ll be reporting more details later this morning.

Haiti was hit by a 7.0 earthquake near the capital, Port-au-Prince. A UF student group, Club Creole, is collecting supplies for the relief effort. Members plan to be in Turlington Plaza starting around 11 a.m.
