Tebow and Major Wright

Yesterday, various quotes by Chicago Bears players were released and they make for some good bulletin board material.  Conspicuously absent was a remark from former Gator, and Tebow teammate, Major Wright.

One of our favorite defensive plays as Gators was Tebow vs. Major Wright in the Orange and Blue Game in 2008.  You can catch a glimpse of it at the 1:15 mark.

And what happened?  Here's an excerpt from a live blogging of the O&B game.

Tebow then throws fifteen yards downfield, and gets a second tipped pass picked; the pick is returned for a TD, but Tebow nails the heir to Reggie Nelson’s throne, Major Wright, with a vicious hit on the return. Apparently, the red jersey only means no one can hit you. It’s 14-7, Blue.
Andrews is talking to Meyer, who dismisses the Tebow blast of Wright as “typical Tebow.” Yeah. Sounds about right.

What you don't see in the video was Major "returning the favor" and standing over Tebow and giving him a talking to. Good stuff. And let's hope there is no repeat in Sunday's game against the Bears.

Go Gators!  Go Broncos!
